D3A AUTUMN SOCIAL 2024
The D3A team got to let off some steam on Friday. For our autumn social, we headed to Game of Throwing to try our hands at Axe Throwing.
WELCOME CONOR
Meet Conor! He’s a recent graduate from Manchester University, where he earned his MEng in Chemical Engineering. We’re excited to welcome him as the newest member of the D3A Energy team! As a Graduate Engineer, Conor will be diving into decarbonisation plans and helping design heat network systems and energy centres.
£2.7M AWARDED TO 33 HEAT NETWORKS
Great news!! In Round 6 of the Government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES), another £2.7 million has been awarded to 33 heat networks across England & Wales. This includes 2 schemes that the D3A Energy team have been supporting.

5 BENEFITS OF DISTRICT ENERGY
Imagine a town or city sharing one huge boiler or air conditioner. Instead of each building needing its own heating and cooling units, they’re all connected to a central energy plant, making good use of renewable energy sources and creating less pollution.

SHOTTON YOUTH CENTRE OPEN DAY
14 months ago we started with a blank sheet of paper and now we have a brand new sustainable youth centre for the young people of Shotton.

HNES FUNDING
The Government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) is awarding over £3 million in funding in the present round and the great news for the D3A Energy team is that 2 of our schemes have been included.
SUBSIDISED ENERGY AUDITS
Great news for Community Energy Groups and Local Authorities. The North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub are currently able to offer a limited number of subsidised Energy Audits and the D3A Energy team will be delivering the work.
SHOTTON YOUTH CENTRE
With Practical Completion very much on the horizon, our Lead Architect Simon Timperley visited the Shotton Youth Centre (or SYC as it will be known) for the initial snagging inspection.
QUEEN’S HALL HEXHAM
What a magnificent roof structure our drone footage has revealed. We’re delighted to be working locally with Queen's Hall Arts Centre, Hexham on a high level Condition Survey.
MEET THE CHAMP (AGAIN!)
The Boy Wonder does it again. Today, our monthly Foosball Friday transformed into a darts tournament - and Andrew, who claims to have never played darts in his life, came out tops. No money was at stake so we couldn’t even accuse him of hustling.
