LOWES BARN GROUNDBREAKING
The new Lowes Barn Community Centre is now one step closer following the initial ‘Ground Breaking’ event which took place on Saturday 18th June.
Located in Nevilles Cross, Durham, the new Community Centre, designed by d3associates architectural team, includes a large communal area, a main hall for activities, a good size kitchen, meeting rooms and accessible toilets.
From business plan to architectural design, the aim was to create an aesthetically pleasing sustainable building, with an adaptable layout, so as the community's requirements change the building can too.
The well insulated timber frame structure, heated by air source heat pumps powered by photovoltaic panels, is designed to have low running costs and be accessible to all.
As construction work commences, we can't wait to see the building emerge, ready to serve the local community.
