HNES FUNDING

The Government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) is awarding over £3 million in funding in the present round and the great news for the D3A Energy team is that 2 of our schemes have been included.

The first is the Williams Building in Cambridge which has been awarded just over £52K. This is the first capital project to be awarded funding based on an Optimisation Study funded in an earlier round.
HNES will support the repairing and recommissioning of infrastructure across the network. HIU’s will also be recommissioned, whilst new bulk meters and insulation will be installed. This will help to improve reliability and overall control of the heat network for the building's residents.

The second scheme is the Radius Development in Wandsworth. This is receiving revenue grant funding for an Optimisation Study which will review the performance of their heat networks and identify areas for improvement.

The overall impact of this funding is more than financial. It is expected that emissions savings will be equivalent to taking 938 diesel cars off the road each year - a massive contribution towards the UK’s target to become a net zero economy.
